Counseling Services
Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau counselors have a Master’s Degree level education and provide therapy services to the community and as a part of LAYSB programs. Our expertise is in working with youth ages 10-18 and their families.
Counselors work with a variety of issues including relationship concerns, school performance, depression, parenting situations, anger issues, divorce, chemical use, ADHD and many others. Our staff focus on finding solutions to the problems that affect people’s lives and giving them the necessary tools and support to be able to make positive changes in their own lives.
LAYSB counselors see beyond the problems and focus on t
he positive things that are happening. Our counseling clients have told us that they appreciate learning techniques for coping with their teenager’s behavior, improving family communication skills, and that they discovered new ways to find joy in their lives.
Clients also express their appreciation of the non-judgmental support, down to earth, open and honest atmosphere provided at LAYSB.
LAYSB counseling services are affordable. We will work with your insurance company whenever possible and clients may also access a sliding fee scale to help with the cost of therapy. Please call the office to learn more about counseling services offered at LAYSB and how to access them.

She provides individual and family counseling to adolescents and their families in order to solve immediate issues, stabilize family or individual crises, strengthen skill development and assist in building healthy relationships.
“It is my intent, as their counselor, to help youth improve their experience of life by looking inside and outside of themselves,” says Wampler. “I look forward to doing this through self-reflection, family systems work and by encouraging positive interaction with others.”

She finished post-masters work on her certification for Marriage and Family Therapy at Bethel Seminary. Kari Lyn has been working with adolescents and their families for nearly 25 years. Serving primarily in a program role, she desired to make a greater and more long lasting impact on the lives of youth, which is what led her to Family Therapy in the fall of 2003.
