Each Fall (usually the last weekend in September), the Sunrise Bassmasters host a Youth Fishing Day on Saturday & a Bass Tournament Benefiting LAYSB on Sunday!

Bass Tournament
The Annual Sunrise Bassmasters’ Bass Tournament benefiting Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau takes place on a local lake. Ease off at 7:00 a.m. and weigh in at 3:00 p.m. Rules: Two person teams. Five fish limit with 12 inch minimum size. Cost: $80 Entry per 2 man team ($50 Donation, $30 Payout and Plaques). Entrants will be limited to the first 50 boats in (register early).
Payout: 1st – $750, 2nd – $400, 3rd – $250, 4th – $150 (based on 50 boats, will be adjusted if fewer boats enter).

Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau (LAYSB)’s Board Member, Kathy Lillis, accepted a check for $983 from Sunrise Bassmasters President, John Moore on Sunday, September 25, 2011. Thank you for your continued support, Sunrise Bassmasters!
Youth Fishing Day
The Sunrise Bassmasters sponsor this annual Youth Fishing Day from 8:00 a.m. to Noon for youth ages 10-17. Both boys and girls are welcome to participate. Youth Fishing Day takes place on Forest Lake and leaves from Timm’s Marina. This is a free event but pre-registration is required as spaces are limited to the first 10 youth to call LAYSB (registration opens September 1st each year), 651-464-3685. Rods, tackle and snacks are provided. Prizes are awarded!
The Sunrise Bassmasters took these 10 youth out fishing on Forest Lake on Saturday, September 24, 2011! The top 3 finishers were: Devin Carlson in 3rd place catching a pike, Tyler Peterfeso in 2nd place catching an 11 inch bass and Erik Blok in 1st place catching a 13.5 inch bass. Prizes were awarded and fun was had by all!
