"It’s all about the kids. I thought Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau was only for problem kids – but they actually help good kids get better and those with challenges get back on track. As the CEO and founder of Wealth Management Midwest, I choose to invest here because I know my money is well-managed and helps support the well-being of these kids, their families, and our community."

Dave and Lori Purdy

“YAB helped me to become more comfortable taking initiative and being a leader. We’ve done everything from helping with set-up and clean-up to leading games for kids, selling ice cream, helping with parking, and manning the bouncy house. We always wear our YAB t-shirts and it’s fun! It’s amazing to see our ideas come to life and put into action right before our eyes!”

Amanda Stafford, age 16
Youth Advisory Board Participant

"I just wanted to extend my gratitude for allowing me to sit in on the Restorative Justice Community Panel experience. I can’t tell you how invigorating it was to sit with other adults who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of at-risk kids. As I was driving home I felt a renewed energy for my job."

Meghan Quinn, Washington County Probation Dept.

"As a volunteer, I get an understanding of how much my support can mean to them."

Bea Zaruba, Board member & program volunteer

“I learned more tools to open communication between me and my son. I loved the talk about trust, my son has a better understanding on many issues”

"When I come to Our Place, I feel like I’m taking a cap off a bottle of water and pouring it out when I talk. I can be honest here. Everyone cares and listens, especially Matt. My coming here makes me think and makes me want to do better.”
